Privacy Policy

bocch (the “Service”) is a board game you can play in your browser. The operator of the Service (the “Operator”) handles users' information as follows.
1. Information we collect and how we use it
- Account information: if you create an account, we keep your email address and your name, rating and game record. We use them only for signing in and for carrying your records across devices.
- Game records: in online games and when watching, the moves, names and ratings in a room are sent to a relay server. This is needed for the game to work, and the records are deleted automatically after at most 12 hours.
- Information stored on your device: your game history, review analysis results, name, settings and similar data are stored on your device (in your browser). They are not sent to the Operator.
We do not give the information we collect to third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
2. Advertising
The Service uses (or plans to use) the third-party advertising service “Google AdSense.” Google and other ad vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to the Service and other websites, in order to show ads that match your interests.

3. External services we use
- Google Firebase (account management and record storage)
- Cloudflare (relay for online games)
- GitHub Pages (hosting of the Service)
- Google AdSense (ad delivery)
How each service handles information is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
4. Analytics
The Service does not currently use any analytics tools. If we introduce one, we will announce it on this page.
5. Disclaimer
The Service is provided free of charge, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of its content or that it will work. The Operator is not responsible for any damage arising from use of the Service. We may change the content or stop providing the Service without notice.
6. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy as needed. Changes take effect from the time they are posted on this page.

8. Sound credits
Some sound effects use the following sounds from Freesound (trimmed and processed, e.g. with added reverb). Other sounds are made from CC0 sounds on Freesound and from piece sounds recorded for bocch.
